The superseded German standard

DIN 1725 part 5 - Aluminium alloys -Alloys for remelting - Ingots, Liquid Metal, composition standard, defines details of aluminium alloys chemical composition produced in the form of ingots or liquid aluminium for castings production.
DIN 1725 Part 2 - Aluminium alloys - Alloys for remelting - Sand casting, Gravity casting, Pressure Die casting, Investment casting is the German standard that specifies the chemical composition of castings produced with the different above mentioned casting techniques. The standard additionally provides an indication of the mechanical properties of alloys also according to the applied heat treatment.
The DIN 1725 standards were superseded in 1997 by European standards EN:1676 and EN:1706.
